We doubt that anyone enjoys putting together a résumé. Many find it hard even to get started and, as a result, procrastinate beyond a company’s decision-making deadline.
It may help to think of the pride you’ll feel after completion, as you scan your professional achievements and goals. But emotional considerations aside, without a résumé, no one knows who you are or where you want to go.

Remember, too, that recruiters spend less than 10 seconds reviewing most résumés. If yours fails to immediately show mastery of a position’s requirements, and experience in a similar position, get ready for a continuing job search.
